Well who is Sammy Dean

Hi my real name is Stuart Rowland born in Northampton in 1970, I first got into music at school and learned to play the keyboard and I always knew I could sing but held back due to confidence issues.

After leaving school I taught myself the drums and double bass and started drumming in a rockabilly trio called The Rivieras, I then became a front man for my own band The Rockin Bones, we realised on 4 track cassette and played many gigs.

After we stopped playing, I formed Captain Flash and the Phasermen and we added a bit of punk to our rockin music and headed to the pychobilly sound releasing a 9 track album.

After a break I became Suggs in a pro madness and ska tribute act Michael Caine and played up and down the land.

I now sing and play double bass in a hillbilly trio called The Front Porch Preachers and I front the amazing band El Camino, I write most of the songs and we have two albums out on Western Star Records.

I got asked to sing at an open music night with the Rutland Big Band a few years ago and then joined them for a couple of years, under the watchful eyes of  the formidable Marcus Reynolds  , I realised what a great voice I had for singing those fantastic big band numbers and decided as it was tricky for a lot of venues to book a twenty piece band I would set up Sammy Dean with backing tracks and also provide other entertainment services such  as Retro Disco and karaoke services

I simply love entertaining people, I've done it all of my life and if people are happy in a social situation, what can be better .
